Our Leadership Team

  • Susan Ervin

    CO-FOUNDER

    PRESIDENT / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | susan.ervin@caiac4kids.org

    Susan serves as the Guardian ad Litem Attorney Advocate for Iredell and Rowan Counties. She started volunteering with the GAL program during law school and quickly developed a passion for child advocacy and has made non profit work a priority throughout her life.

    Susan and her husband, Nathan, have been together 12 years and live in Troutman with their Basset Hound, Louie.

  • Nalini Joseph

    CO-FOUNDER

    30 years in child welfare, most recently as District Administrator for the NC GAL program District 22A. Nalini has a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Wesleyan College and a Master’s in Health Administration from Pfeiffer University.

    She grew up in India and was inspired to work with people in need through her family work as United Methodist missionaries. As a teenager, Nalini had the opportunity to talk to and work with Mother Teresa in Calcutta.

    She moved to the US for college and has enjoyed working at the GAL program because she sees the necessity of having an unbiased advocate for a child in court.

  • Dana McClure

    Dana has 25 years experience in the financial services industry and is currently a Wealth Management IT Consultant.

    As Treasurer, Dana strengthens the financial health of CAIAC by maintaining the budget and prioritizing every donation for the care of children in our community.

    Dana is a GAL volunteer and lives in Mooresville with her husband, Chris and daughters Finley and Harper.

  • Nick Trimbach

    CO-FOUNDER

    PAST PRESIDENT / EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR | nicholas.trimbach@caiac4kids.org

    Nick Trimbach has worked in the retail building supplies industry for twenty+ years. Currently he serves as Director FP&A for a division of a Fortune 500 supplier of products sold through the largest names in home improvement and mass retail. Through the course of his career Nick has had heavy exposure to operations management, employee relations, policy, legal/contract management, and general business management.

    Outside of CAIAC, Nick served as a Guardian ad Litem for eight years and was involved for more than ten years as a volunteer with both the Boys Scouts and Cub Scouts.

    Nick has been married 25 years to his wife Melissa.

  • Molly Cole

    Molly has 20 years of experience as a critical care nurse, cardiac rehabilitation specialist and health care recruiter. She became a GAL volunteer in 2001 and soon after pursued a graduate degree in order to work more closely with children exposed to neglect, violence and trauma.

    As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Molly spent a decade working with the dependency system and independent counseling agencies.

    Molly and her husband Dave moved to NC in 2020 and currently reside in Mooresville with their dog, Cooper. They love traveling, especially when it includes visiting with their adult children and six grandchildren.

  • Mikhaela Ackerman

    Mikhaela is an attorney and works in financial crimes risk management, focusing in Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Independent Risk Management,  Cybersecurity, Controls, Bank Secrecy Act, and Data Privacy. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem in Iredell county since September 2023, and previously worked in volunteer roles for special education law in Mecklenburg county.

    Mikhaela is active in the autism community, conducting presentations on autism acceptance in the workplace and has authored various projects with international readership. Outside of GAL, Mikhaela also serves as VP of the High Point University Alumni Board, Chair of the High Point University Scholarship committee, and teaches yoga. Her passions are family, traveling, hiking, and breaking stereotypes.

  • Paige Stryker

    Paige is a Strategy & Operations IT Manager at Novant Health. For the past 7 years, Paige has been passionate about a data driven approach to shape change and foster successful digital engagements.

    Paige has worked with other organizations from non-profits to universities to leverage technology to enhance user experience, drive innovation, and achieve efficiency.

    Beyond her professional life, she is committed to giving back to the community through local organizations. Currently, she is a Guardian ad Litem of Iredell and Alexander County since September 2023 and a mentor at her local middle school since 2017.

  • Nina Archer

    Nina Archer has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry. As Executive Vice President and Division Head of Global Cash Management at First Union, she was responsible for leading the product development, sales, marketing, implementation, and customer service for all domestic and international commercial cash management product lines. In 1998 Nina was awarded the Charlotte Business Journal’s Women in Business Achievement Award.

    With a strong commitment to helping children who have been neglected and abused, Nina has served as a Guardian ad litem in Iredell County for over 10 years. In that role, she also assists in the training of Guardian ad litem recruits.

    Born in Ohio, Nina graduated from the University of Akron with a BS in Business and played on the university’s varsity tennis team. In 1984 she and her husband Robert moved to Charlotte and currently live in the Lake Norman area. She loves playing tennis and golf.

  • Brent Goddard

    Brent is now fully retired, following 30+ years in the U.S. Marine Corp and Navy, where he reached the rank of Colonel. Following his military career, he moved to Mooresville, NC and had a 2nd eight year career as a corporate executive.

    While retired, his focus has been on his love of everything outdoors and serving the local community. He is a GAL volunteer and is dedicated to taking care of our communities’ most vulnerable.

    Brent is married to his wife of over 38 years, Kelly, and has three children and seven grandchildren.
